Always a boy
A recent trip to Lyon Park in Arlington prompted me to once again tell Peanut, “you are such a boy”. Growing up, I would have labeled such a statement as sexist. But now, I just let it be what it is. My son is such a boy. And, I love it.
He shunned playing with the other kids in the spray ground for jumping in the disgusting mud puddle right next to it. Covered in mud, he watched the other children neatly play under the fountains. Splash!

So happy there was no mud puddle when Tyler went–he got into a puddle outside of B&N in downtown Bethesda recently and splashed around for a while, fell down, and then decided it would be really funny to lie down on his belly, head propped up on his hands. 3 different sets of tourists took pictures of him–and his “crazying American mommy” probably. But who cares–he just LOVES mud puddles. And if he ruined his white Davidson tee-shirt, well, it’s just clothes!
