   Fun ‘n’ Hip Mommies is another great Meetup.com hosted group–you have to show up for a “public” event to prove you’re a woman with a kid, before you’re allowed on their private calendar: “Super Fun ‘n’ Hip Mommies”, where people host playgroups at their homes, as well as at parks, the zoo, the library, etc. Events tend to be either very small or very large, and not always the same people, which can be good or bad. I’m in Bethessda, and most of the moms I know on the group are from Silver Spring and Gaithersburg, but I know there is an active group of Virginians, as well. Events are held all over the Washington Metro area.
